Why install cat wall furniture?
Cats are natural climbers. They need elevated spaces to feel secure, observe their surroundings, and exercise. Wall furniture offers them all of that without taking up floor space, perfect for small apartments.
Tools you need
- Drill
- Spirit level
- Screwdriver
- Pencil for marking
- Measuring tape
- Wall plugs and screws (included with CatLoft products)
Step-by-step: how to install the modules
Step 1: Plan the route. Before drilling, place the modules on the floor to visualize the complete circuit. The steps should be spaced 25 to 35 cm apart so your cat can jump comfortably.
Step 2: Mark the positions. Using a pencil and the level, mark the fixing points on the wall. Check that they are aligned and at the correct height.
Step 3: Drill and insert the wall plugs. Drill at the marked points and insert the corresponding wall plugs according to the wall type (solid, plasterboard, or brick).
Step 4: Secure the supports. Screw the supports to the wall, ensuring they are firm. Check stability before placing the module.
Step 5: Place the modules. Fit each module onto its support and check for any movement. Apply slight pressure to confirm security.
Important tips
Always use appropriate wall plugs for the wall type. If you have a plasterboard wall, use specific wall plugs for hollow walls. Install modules at a minimum height of 1.5 meters so your cat can climb comfortably. Do not install loose modules without planning the complete circuit.
